Temporal Networks, Finding Mastodon Followers with Python and Gephi
From the Blog
Today has been a nice week and I feel like I've been incredibly productive. From the blog, I've managed to put out three new posts relating to social network analysis.
How to Import a Network From a Spreadsheet Using Gephi
If you ever used Gephi, before you will know, it is really handy for visualising complex networks. If you are new to social network analysis, you need to try Gephi. In this blog post, I cover the basics for importing a network from a spreadsheet.
Finding New Followers on Mastodon Using Python and Network Science
Mastodon has become my new microblogging home, and I'm on the lookout for new people to follow. Me being a nerd that I am, I thought I put my skills to the test to see if I can find new people to follow all from one Python script with the help of some principles taken from network science.
How to Create Simple Dynamic Graphs in Gephi
Let's face it, animated data sets are really cool to watch. In this blog post, I cover the basics for learning how to import dynamic grass into Cathy from spreadsheets. I'm hoping in the future, I will showcase some cool animated visuals in the future.
What I’m Learning This Week
This week I've been learning a bit more about linear aggression. It's not something I really looked into before, and it's something I know is important for any data analyst. To explore this further, I've been looking at UK house price sales based upon open data (all provided by the HM Land Registry) and I want to learn how to predict what a property is worth in the future.
